A crazy series of videos have gone viral<\/a> on social media at the weekend supposedly showing a young girl causing \u2018chaos\u2019 at the Arndale.<\/a><\/p>\n

In the multiple videos, a young girl is seen climbing on top of an escalator, being escorted by security guards, and allegedly pulling the hair of another shopper whilst inside the Manchester shopping centre.<\/p>\n

One video of the incident had been seen by more than 55 million people on TikTok<\/a> within three days. Another clip on X has received over 13 million views in a little over 12 hours, with people all around the world sharing their thoughts on the clips.<\/p>\n

Some American viewers have gone on to compare the girl to the likes of children’s book character Junie B. Jones and The Grinch character Cindy Lou Who.<\/p>\n

The clips are thought to begin with a young girl in a pink coat and her family arguing with a group of security staff outside a shop, alongside another group of shoppers. It is not clear what is being said but it has been alleged online that the girl and her family were being accused of shoplifting and security can be seen separating the two groups of shoppers away from each other.<\/p>\n

As the clip continues, the girl and her family walk away, before another young girl throws an unknown item in the direction towards where the security guards and the other group of shoppers are standing.<\/p>\n

Another clip, which is believed to have been taken after the previous video, sees the girl in the pink coat on a downward escalator in front of two members of security. She then climbs onto the gap between the two moving staircases and proceeds to climb onto the upwards escalator, which is not in use, and walks up the steps.<\/p>\n

At the top of the escalator, she is seen in the video approaching a group of shoppers who are watching the commotion unfold. She is then captured on video approaching a female shopper and then proceeding to pull them by the hair. She then heads back down the escalator with a smile on her face.<\/p>\n

The series of videos have garnered mixed attention with people both hailing the young girl as a \u2018diva\u2019 and others criticising her actions. One person commented on the video: \u201cthe pink jacket girl CLIMBING OVER the escalator, going back down it, & then going back up just gag her is frying me like WHO IS THIS DIVA LMFAOOO.\u201d<\/p>\n

They added: \u201cthis entire situation is so chaotic i’m crying\u201d. Another said: \u201cThat escalator wasn\u2019t ready for a diva moment”.<\/p>\n

Whilst some found the clips to be entertaining, others said they were not impressed by her actions. One person said: \u201cI don\u2019t find her behaviour that funny.” Another person commented: \u201cParents need to start parenting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others also questioned those who were glamourising the actions in the clip, with one person asking: \u201cWhat an imbecile. Endangering others safety as well as her own. Why we calling her diva again?\u201d<\/p>\n

One other person commented: \u201cHateee the way everyone\u2019s hyping this child up, like that is not a diva stop enabling this behaviour omg.\u201d Another said: \u201cmaybe it’s because i actually have kids and I’d die of embarrassment if they were like this, but the response to this girl overall being “go off queen” is so ****ed.\u201d<\/p>\n

But whilst some believe the incident has occurred recently, the Manchester Evening News<\/a> is able to verify that the original videos were first posted on TikTok in March 2022 by @dreams_dreams24. The same user has recently reposted the videos, which has garnered more attention to the clips with ‘pink coat girl’ now becoming a viral topic on TikTok.<\/p>\n

Shameless actress Kelli Hollis is amongst those to have shared their views on the clips online. Describing her as a ‘little madam’ to her 293,000 followers, Kelli says in a video: “She ain’t a little diva, her. She’s going to be a little ****ing nightmare is what she is.” She added: “It’s funny because it’s just pure cheek but she’s a little madam.”<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Manchester Arndale has now told the Manchester Evening News: \u201cWe\u2019re aware of a video that has been recently circulated on social media, which shows an altercation that took place in Manchester Arndale and was attended by members of our Security team.<\/p>\n
