This new deal raises the company\u2019s total renewable energy commitment to <strong data-start=\"928\" data-end=\"938\">109\u202fMW<\/strong> in Spain.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"950\" data-end=\"1164\">The contracted capacity will cover the energy needs of over <strong data-start=\"1010\" data-end=\"1040\">900 restaurants nationwide<\/strong>, with a total estimated supply of <strong data-start=\"1075\" data-end=\"1105\">1,900 gigawatt-hours (GWh)<\/strong> of clean solar energy throughout the life of the contract.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1166\" data-end=\"1338\">This extension reinforces <strong data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1210\">Burger King\u00ae\u2019s<\/strong> commitment to sustainable energy use, while increasing its <strong data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1289\">energy security<\/strong> amid ongoing price volatility in energy markets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1396\" data-end=\"1668\">The new agreement builds on a <strong data-start=\"1426\" data-end=\"1435\">75\u202fMW<\/strong> PPA signed in 2024, linked to the <strong data-start=\"1470\" data-end=\"1491\">Francisco Pizarro<\/strong> photovoltaic plant in C\u00e1ceres\u2014one of the largest solar farms in Europe. That contract already powers 750 restaurants, delivering an estimated <strong data-start=\"1634\" data-end=\"1647\">1,500 GWh<\/strong> of renewable energy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1670\" data-end=\"1905\">With this second deal, <strong data-start=\"1693\" data-end=\"1709\">Burger King\u00ae<\/strong> becomes one of Iberdrola Espa\u00f1a\u2019s key corporate clients in the food and consumer goods sector, as it continues working to fully decarbonise its operations with electricity from renewable sources.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1670\" data-end=\"1905\"><strong>Iberdrola surpasses 865 MW in PPAs signed in 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"2110\">By July 2025, <strong data-start=\"1980\" data-end=\"2022\">Iberdrola has signed a total of 865\u202fMW<\/strong> in PPAs across the European market, according to sector data. Major agreements include:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2112\" data-end=\"2434\">\n<li data-start=\"2112\" data-end=\"2178\">\n<p data-start=\"2114\" data-end=\"2178\"><strong data-start=\"2114\" data-end=\"2124\">476\u202fMW<\/strong> contracted with <strong data-start=\"2141\" data-end=\"2151\">Amazon<\/strong> across Spain and Portugal.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2179\" data-end=\"2266\">\n<p data-start=\"2181\" data-end=\"2266\">Over <strong data-start=\"2186\" data-end=\"2196\">300\u202fMW<\/strong> signed with <strong data-start=\"2209\" data-end=\"2222\">Mercadona<\/strong> to supply its logistics network and stores.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2267\" data-end=\"2359\">\n<p data-start=\"2269\" data-end=\"2359\">A virtual PPA with <strong data-start=\"2288\" data-end=\"2297\">Renfe<\/strong> for 3,700 GWh\/year\u2014approximately <strong data-start=\"2331\" data-end=\"2341\">190\u202fMW<\/strong> of wind capacity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2360\" data-end=\"2434\">\n<p data-start=\"2362\" data-end=\"2434\">Additional smaller-scale deals with industrials like <strong data-start=\"2415\" data-end=\"2433\">Tubos Reunidos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2436\" data-end=\"2704\">These figures reinforce Iberdrola\u2019s position as a <strong data-start=\"2486\" data-end=\"2530\">market leader in European corporate PPAs<\/strong>, following a record year in 2024 with <strong data-start=\"2569\" data-end=\"2592\">1,251\u202fMW contracted<\/strong>.
