{"id":319653,"date":"2025-08-05T11:12:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T11:12:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/319653\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T11:12:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T11:12:14","slug":"over-8000-foreigners-joined-ukraines-military-armed-forces-official","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/319653\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 8,000 Foreigners Joined Ukraine\u2019s Military: Armed Forces Official"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/militaryai.ai\/\" aria-label=\"Military AI banner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Military-AI-banner.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"no-lazyload\" width=\"1470\" height=\"620\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>More than 8,000 foreign volunteers have reportedly joined the Ukrainian Ground Forces, with the total number to be \u201clikely at least twice as high\u201d across all military branches.<\/p>\n<p><b>Kostyantyn<\/b> <b>Milevskyi<\/b>, the Ukrainian military\u2019s Acting Head of the Department for Coordination of Foreigners\u2019 Military Service, <a href=\"https:\/\/hromadske.ua\/viyna\/249076-vidsotok-zbilshyvsia-u-zsu-rozkryly-detali-skilky-inozemtsiv-vstupaiut-do-ukrayinskoho-viyska\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shared<\/a> this with the Ukrainian news outlet Hromadske.<\/p>\n<p>The number of foreign armed forces volunteers increased from 100 to 150 a month to around 600, which was \u201cinfluenced in part by the fact that our Foreign Recruitment Center has now begun full operations,\u201d said Milevskyi.<\/p>\n<p>South Americans reportedly make up around 40 percent of foreign soldiers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Foreign Recruits<\/p>\n<p>Detailed information, particularly about which countries have contributed the most volunteers, is kept secret for security reasons.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Ukrainian military revealed that a large portion comes from Colombia, with many of them serving in dedicated combat units.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One of them includes Ukraine\u2019s 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade assault unit, comprising primarily Colombian fighters, in addition to volunteers from Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Peru, and Zimbabwe, United24Media <a href=\"https:\/\/united24media.com\/latest-news\/colombian-fighters-join-ukraines-47th-brigade-in-new-elite-strike-unit-9780\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While their motivations vary, many Colombian nationals said that the Kyiv military\u2019s salary is \u201ccurrently significantly higher\u201d compared to their armed forces back home.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are also people with military experience, and they want to continue doing what they did in their home countries, and improve their skills here.
