Relegation from the Premier League significantly reduced their broadcast revenue, putting pressure on the club to manage its finances carefully.

One key aspect of this is the wage bill. Loaning out players like Gelhardt helps Leeds to trim these costs, as Hull will likely cover a portion of his salary.

Photo by Mark Leech/Offside/Offside via Getty Images

With a large squad and fierce competition for attacking spots, Gelhardt’s opportunities at Leeds would be limited. Players like Patrick Bamford and Joel Piroe are ahead of him in the pecking order.

Sending him on loan ensures he gets valuable playing time, which is crucial for his development, while also helping the club manage its finances and stay compliant with PSR regulations.

Although he has a long-term contract, his loan spell allows the club to maintain him as an asset while he gains experience elsewhere.

A popular figure among the Leeds United fanbase is once again set to leave Elland Road, sparking a…

[8814
748,393,4884,38670,1860,16,15
0":"post-319966","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-leeds","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-england","10":"tag-great-britain","11":"tag-joe-gelhardt","12":"tag-leeds","13":"tag-uk","14":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
