{"id":320491,"date":"2025-08-05T18:36:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T18:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/320491\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T18:36:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T18:36:09","slug":"solihull-councillor-crosses-chamber-floor-to-join-conservatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/320491\/","title":{"rendered":"Solihull Councillor crosses chamber floor to join Conservatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t\tA GREEN Councillor has crossed the Council chamber floor to join Solihull Conservatives.<\/p>\n<p>In a shock move Councillor Jane Lamden for Chelmsley Wood has joined the ruling party on the authority.\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Coun Lamden said; \u201cI am pleased to join the Conservative Party and I look forward to continuing my work as a Conservative Councillor for Chelmsley Wood. My priority has and always will be to serve my community.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The move increases the Conservatives majority to 28 seats on the council.<\/p>\n<p>The Green Party now have eight seats in the chamber as the Liberal Democrat, meaning there is no main opposition party in the chamber.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Councillor Karen Grinsell, leader of the Conservative Group and Solihull Council said: \u201cI am delighted to welcome Jane, who serves the Chelmsley Wood ward to our team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJane brings great energy and dedication to our already committed and enthusiastic group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer strong advocacy on behalf of her residents has been evident throughout her time so far on Solihull Council.
