Blackpool Pleasure Beach has made a big change to its entry rules and it’s left visitors divided.<\/p>\n
Theme park bosses have decided to let dogs through the gates for the first time, allowing visitors to bring their furry friends along with them on Sundays throughout August.<\/p>\n
The Lancashire attraction says it wants to help people ditch the guilt of leaving their pets at home so has decided to welcome them on the dedicated dog-friendly days, which, if successful, will be extended throughout the rest of the year.<\/p>\n
\u2018Dog\u2019s Day Out\u2019 allows guests to add a special Dog Entry Pass to their booking, giving their beloved pooches access to the park every Sunday.<\/p>\n
Water stations and unlimited treats will be available, as well as plenty of spots where people can relax with their four-legged friends.<\/p>\n
For the best ideas on days out, shopping and parenting issues, get the Manchester Family newsletter here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Pleasure Beach says the move is designed to make days out more accessible for dog owners who might otherwise feel put off visiting, due to the guilt of leaving their pets at home for long periods.<\/p>\n Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort, said: \u201cWe know that so many of our guests see their dogs as part of the family, and leaving them behind for the day can be a real worry. Dog-friendly Sundays mean guests no longer have to choose between a great day out and doing what\u2019s best for their pet.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve always been a family park \u2013 family owned, for families \u2013 and with this latest step we can truly say we\u2019re a destination for all.\u201d<\/p>\n While dogs won\u2019t be able to ride rollercoasters, they will be able to enjoy the sights, sounds and atmosphere of the park, and members of the Pleasure Beach team will be on hand to make sure both guests and their dogs have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.<\/p>\n But it seems visitors are very much divided on the issue, with some welcoming the move and others saying ‘it’s no place for dogs’.<\/p>\n Responding to the announcement on the Pleasure Beach’s Facebook page, one said: “Crap and pish on the floor, dog poo bags getting hot and sweaty in the bins smelling fresh, oh yes what a joy. Barking yapping dogs fighting where do I sign up.”<\/p>\n Another said: “Oh hell no, all that noise from the rollercoasters and people screaming?
