{"id":321018,"date":"2025-08-05T23:18:13","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T23:18:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/321018\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T23:18:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T23:18:13","slug":"no-other-choice-syrskyi-says-ukraine-must-mobilize-to-counter-growing-russian-forces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/321018\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;No other choice&#8217; \u2014 Syrskyi says Ukraine must mobilize to counter growing Russian forces"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ukraine&#8217;s top military commander warned on Aug. 5 that Russia is accelerating its mobilization efforts, with plans to form 10 new military divisions by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/tag\/oleksandr-syrskyi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oleksandr Syrskyi<\/a>, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/14KrVWCuSZm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> two of the divisions have already been formed, and that Russian forces are adding approximately 9,000 troops each month \u2014 despite suffering heavy losses.<\/p>\n<p>According to Syrskyi, Russian forces lost more than 33,200 personnel in July alone \u2014 800 more than the previous month. Russia is estimated to have <a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/general-staff-russia-has-lost-1-058-260-troops-in-ukraine-since-feb-24-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lost<\/a> more than one million military personnel since the start of the full-scale <a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/tag\/war\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">invasion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Despite this,&#8221; he said, &#8220;the opponent is increasing its <a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/russia-to-draft-year-round-under-proposed-continuous-mobilization\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">forces<\/a> by 9,000 people every month.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To respond to Russia&#8217;s growing military, Syrskyi said Ukraine has &#8220;no other choice but to continue <a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/why-ukraine-cant-afford-to-demobilize-its-soldiers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mobilization<\/a> measures, improve combat training, and strengthen the unmanned component of our troops.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He also announced ongoing reforms within <a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/tag\/ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ukraine&#8217;s<\/a> military corps to improve coordination and battlefield effectiveness.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We understand the situation and know what must be done,&#8221; Syrskyi said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our opponent will increase pressure \u2014 our common task is to prevent them from achieving their objectives.
