{"id":321213,"date":"2025-08-06T01:01:21","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T01:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/321213\/"},"modified":"2025-08-06T01:01:21","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T01:01:21","slug":"resident-doctors-rank-western-trust-obs-and-gynae-first-in-ni","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/321213\/","title":{"rendered":"Resident doctors rank Western Trust Obs and Gynae first in NI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Western Health and Social Care Trust\u2019s\u00a0Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&amp;G) Service has been ranked first in Northern Ireland by resident doctors for the professional training environment and experience they have gained whilst training in the Western Trust.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.derrynow.com\/search?q=Altnagelvin+Hospital&amp;idcanale=21&amp;idcanalericerca=21&amp;sortElement=data_pubblicazione,true&amp;page=1&amp;sortDefault=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Altnagelvin Hospital<\/a> was voted first overall in Northern Ireland and South West Acute Hospital third.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.derrynow.com\/section\/999\/derry-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Altnagelvin<\/a> was also \u201cHighly commended\u201d overall, receiving the Gynaecology and Obstetrics award in the small hospital category and ranked in the 12th for overall satisfaction out of 163 across the UK.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Obs_and_Gynae_ALT_and_SWAH-1754402371987.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"297\" caption=\"false\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This achievement comes as a result of resident doctors providing direct and anonymous feedback via annual trainee evaluations from the General Medical Council and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.<\/p>\n<p>The top ranking units are invited to share their approaches that have contributed to success in providing exceptional training.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Gillespie, Director of Surgery, Paediatrics and Women\u2019s Health in the Western Trust said: \u201cWe are very proud of the Obstetric and Gynaecology service and the training that we provide to our resident doctors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ NEXT: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.derrynow.com\/news\/local-news\/1863851\/epic-futures-ni-launches-750-000-phase-2-funding-to-improve-access-to-fair-and-inclusive-employment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EPIC Futures NI launches \u00a3750,000 Phase 2 funding to improve access to fair and inclusive employment<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese surveys focus on support, supervision, professional development and training quality and I know that the service is delighted to receive this regional and national recognition.
