Aston Villa are closing in on a deal to sign Nice forward Evann Guessand.<\/p>\n
A deal is expected to be completed for around \u00a330 million, which would be Nice’s second-highest transfer sale.<\/p>\n
BirminghamLive<\/strong> understands that the 24-year-old will travel tomorrow ahead of undergoing his medical.<\/p>\n Guessand has attracted interest from several clubs, including some in the Premier League<\/a>, but Villa<\/a> appear to have won the race to sign him.<\/p>\n He scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in Ligue 1 last season, primarily playing off the right wing.<\/p>\n His versatility is likely to appeal to Unai Emery, as he is capable of operating across the front line, including as a central striker.<\/p>\n So far this summer, Villa have made just one first-team signing, with Marco Bizot arriving to replace Robin Olsen as the club\u2019s back-up goalkeeper.<\/p>\n Zepiqueno Redmond also joined on a free transfer from Feyenoord, though he could be sent out on loan.<\/p>\n What do you make of the news?
