EX-England and Manchester United star Nicky Butt has been given a police caution for head-butting a security guard at his own 50th party.<\/p>\n

The Sun revealed in January that the guard was treated for a suspected broken nose <\/a>\u2014 and can today name Butt <\/a>for the first time.<\/p>\n

He accepted the criminal sanction for actual bodily harm over the attack at Soho Farmhouse near Great Tew, Oxfordshire.<\/p>\n

The former Manchester United<\/a> star also agreed to donate to charity.<\/p>\n

He had snapped and attacked the security guard during a seven-hour bash on January 24.<\/p>\n

Today we can reveal bar staff refused to serve him any drinks shortly before the incident.<\/p>\n

Trouble erupted between 7pm and 8pm after the ex-midfielder left the bar for a courtyard.<\/p>\n

The guard was said to have seen Butt relieving himself against a wall.<\/p>\n

A row developed and sources said Butt lashed out in a fury.<\/p>\n

The guard was treated in hospital for facial injuries amid fears of a broken nose.<\/p>\n

A source said previously: \u201cThere was blood everywhere. People were shocked as the guard came inside with his face a mess. It ruined a lovely day.\u201d<\/p>\n

The guard took time off work but later returned.<\/p>\n

Butt was first quizzed six days after the assault.<\/p>\n

The Sun understands he accepted the caution within the last month.<\/p>\n

Police<\/a> retain the details and flag them in criminal record checks.<\/p>\n

A caution can only be given if the perpetrator admits the offence.<\/p>\n

Thames Valley Police confirmed: \u201cThe investigation has now concluded. A man was given a caution for the offence of ABH.\u201d<\/p>\n

Butt had turned 50 three days before the party.<\/p>\n

Guests included David<\/a> and Victoria Beckham<\/a>, and fellow United Class of ’92 stars Paul Scholes<\/a> and Gary Neville<\/a> and their partners.<\/p>\n

The group of around 30 guests dined in a private room before moving to the bar.<\/p>\n

Police were then alerted by the club at 9.15pm \u2014 around two hours after the assault.<\/p>\n

Butt helped United win a host of trophies under manager Sir Alex Ferguson.<\/a><\/p>\n

He won 39 England<\/a> caps from 1997-2004 and played for Newcastle before finishing his playing career in China in 2011.<\/p>\n

Butt had been CEO of League Two Salford<\/a> until quitting last year.<\/p>\n

In 2019 he was charged with assault on ex-wife Shelley.<\/p>\n

The CPS later dropped the case owing to insufficient evidence.<\/p>\n

However, Butt was given a caution for causing \u00a3800-worth of criminal damage to her iPhone.<\/p>\n

Last June he got a year\u2019s road ban and 100 hours\u2019 unpaid work after admitting causing serious injury by careless driving.<\/p>\n
