Germany, France and the Netherlands were the leading EU markets for Spanish fresh produce, while exports to non-EU countries also showed strong growth of 19 per cent<\/p>\n

Spain\u2019s\u00a0fruit and vegetable exports to the EU reached \u20ac7.697bn in the January-May period, representing 81 per cent of the country\u2019s total fresh produce exports of \u20ac9.46bn.<\/p>\n

This meant year-on-year growth of 9 per cent, \u201dreflecting the strength of the EU market\u201d, industry body Fepex noted, having processed the data from the Spanish Department of Customs and Excise.<\/p>\n

Fresh fruits and vegetables worth \u20ac1.763bn were exported outside the EU, an increase of 19 per cent compared to the same period last year, Fepex reported.<\/p>\n

Germany, France and the Netherlands were the leading EU markets, the body outlined, with the UK the largest non-EU market.<\/p>\n

Exports to Germany in the first five months of the year amounted to \u20ac2.792bn, 11 per cent more than in the same period of 2024.<\/p>\n

France took on Spanish fresh produce worth \u20ac1.455bn, up 8 per cent, and the Netherlands brought in \u20ac809,815 of Spanish fruit and vegetables, 9 per cent more than in 2024.<\/p>\n
