Having competed as a professional for two decades, Canelo Alvarez has been one of boxing\u2019s biggest stars for some time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He\u2019s recorded many iconic wins and continued to rack up accolades but on September 13, he faces Terence Crawford<\/a> in a matchup that fans have dreamed about for years.<\/p>\n

Canelo rates Crawford incredibly highly<\/a>, as was proven in a recent video where he claimed that his next opponent is better than the only two men that he has suffered losses to in his career.<\/p>\n

The Mexican star\u2019s most recent defeat came to Dmitry Bivol<\/a> in 2022, where Canelo still recorded a career-high pay day<\/a> despite losing a unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

Before his only prior loss, he shared the ring with an opponent who after achieving success in one arena, chose to step into another.<\/p>\n

By 2013, Canelo Alvarez<\/a> had already built an incredibly impressive record at 41-0-1 with multiple defenses of the WBC light middleweight title already under his belt.<\/p>\n

After beating the likes of Josesito Lopez and Shane Mosley in his recent outings, his return in April saw him take on an undefeated champion in a bout where he would add The Ring and WBA light middleweight belts to his collection.<\/p>\n

Austin Trout<\/a> held the WBA regular light middleweight title with an undefeated record of 26-0, having previously been the runner-up to represent the United States at the 2004 Olympics.<\/p>\n

Their matchup ended up being more competitive than many expected it to be but this wasn\u2019t enough for Trout to pull off a historic win as he was beaten on all three scorecards.<\/p>\n

Towards the end of his boxing career, having also challenged both Jermall and Jermell Charlo for world titles, Trout would eventually find himself competing in BKFC<\/a> where he has gone undefeated.<\/p>\n

He was recently stripped of his welterweight title having previously beaten the likes of UFC veteran Diego Sanchez and iconic bare knuckle fighter Luis Palomino.<\/p>\n

Canelo Alvarez would go on to suffer his first defeat in his very next fight<\/p>\n

Canelo Alvarez was originally scheduled to face Austin Trout in the co-main event of a card headlined by Floyd Mayweather Jr.<\/a> until a contractual disagreement between the two stars stopped this from taking place.<\/p>\n

At the time, Alvarez and Mayweather Jr. were already being lined up to face one another later that year, with the bout taking place on September 14.<\/p>\n

Despite the size difference between them, the American was able to hand the Mexican his first defeat, outpointing him on two of the scorecards while the third judge had it as a draw.<\/p>\n
