Sheffield Wednesday are hoping for some positive takeover news in the coming weeks, with John Textor believed to be keen on buying the Championship club. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Owls<\/a>\u2019 issues are well-documented this summer, with owner Dejphon Chansiri having failed to pay wages on time in the past few months, which has brought sanctions from the EFL<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

As a result, boss Danny Rohl has left the club<\/a>, and a host of players have moved on from Hillsborough, with several cancelling their contracts after they weren\u2019t paid on time.<\/p>\n

So, the situation is bleak, but Textor confirming that he does have an interest in the club<\/a> does at least offer some reason for hope, even if the American businessman has a mixed record in the game.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, moving on from Chansiri is the only aim for Wednesday<\/a> right now, and here we look at THREE<\/strong> issues Textor would inherit at the Yorkshire outfit that he must solve immediately\u2026<\/p>\n

Improve the squad<\/p>\n

Whether Textor could realistically take over before the summer deadline is unclear, but, whether it\u2019s free agents outside the window, or a January spree, it\u2019s clear that Wednesday<\/a> need major reinforcements if they are to stay in the Championship.<\/p>\n

Going down to League One wouldn\u2019t be a disaster under a new regime, but a lot of work will be required to ensure that doesn\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n

Sort the North Stand issue at Hillsborough<\/p>\n

Amid all the financial issues that are impacting Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> right now, it may have gone under the radar somewhat that the club has major issues with Hillsborough.<\/p>\n

The North Stand of the iconic venue is said to have structural and electrical faults<\/a>, which has presented the club with another problem.<\/p>\n

So, if Textor was to take over, he would need to improve the North Stand as soon as possible to get it opened again, and many fans would argue that Hillsborough as a whole needs modernising. Whilst that may not be as pressing, enhancing the stadium, and the overall matchday experience, would have to be a priority.<\/p>\n

Get the supporters on side<\/p>\n

Finally, Textor would need to change the mood around the club.<\/p>\n

The fans are understandably negative about their club right now, and they\u2019re tired of the constant mismanagement by Chansiri that has left them worrying about the very future of Wednesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Textor would become a popular figure just by replacing the Thai businessman, but he would then need a plan to keep Wednesday<\/a> fans excited and invigorated.<\/p>\n

They are key to the club, but once supporters turn away, it can be hard to get them back.
