{"id":323753,"date":"2025-08-06T23:37:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T23:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/323753\/"},"modified":"2025-08-06T23:37:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T23:37:10","slug":"number-of-empty-homes-on-the-rise-across-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/323753\/","title":{"rendered":"Number of empty homes on the rise across England"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">When homeowners die, their property often remains empty during the probate process, during which their assets are legally assessed and distributed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Jenni Sadler inherited her mother&#8217;s house in 2011.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s a huge privilege to inherit a home,&#8221; she said. &#8220;But it&#8217;s bittersweet when it&#8217;s such a close family member, because the home is them and they are the home.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The property had fallen into disrepair, and Ms Sadler struggled to afford the mounting costs of essential renovations.
