PepsiCo, which owns crisp giant Walkers, is proposing altering its staffing numbers at its UK sites, including its <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/skelmersdale\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Skelmersdale<\/a> factory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The plant, on Pennine Place in the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/skelmersdale\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"West Lancashire townLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">West Lancashire town<\/a>, manufactures a number of Walkers snacks, including Monster Munch. Roles could be made redundant as a result of the process, which PepsiCo said will affect &#8220;a proportion of employees&#8221;, but the firm did not disclose how many roles could be affected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A PepsiCo UK spokesperson told the ECHO: &#8220;We recently told our teams that we will be consulting on proposed changes to our operational structure, affecting <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/employment\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"a proportion of employeesLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">a proportion of employees<\/a> at our snacks manufacturing sites in the UK, including Skelmersdale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;No decisions will be made without first consulting affected employees and their representatives. Unite national officer Paul Travers said: &#8220;Unite will be offering support to our members at this difficult time.
