Lee Westwood is reuniting with his former caddie Billy Foster for this week’s LIV Golf tournament in <\/strong>Chicago<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former World No.1 and his famed former looper worked together from 2009 until late 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Westwood<\/a> previously said their split was mutual and these days usually has his wife Helen Storey carrying his clubs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But the Englishman has hired Foster for this week’s stop at Bolingbrook Golf Club and the temporary arrangement will also see the 61-year-old carry his clubs in Indianapolis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Foster is at a loose end and yet to find a full-time job after he was sacked by former US Open champion Matthew Fitzpatrick<\/a> in March.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The massive Leeds United fan admitted he was disappointed<\/a> with Fitzpatrick’s decision, but nonetheless was appreciate of the six years they spent together and wished the 30-year-old nothing but the best for the future.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fitzpatrick has since arrested his slump in form and looks destined to book his spot on the 2025 European Ryder Cup<\/a> team.<\/p>\n

Foster’s first gig since the split saw him carry Collin Morikawa’s clubs at the Scottish Open and at the final men’s major of the year at Royal Portrush<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Morikawa explained before playing The Open<\/a> the arrangement was always only ever going to last two weeks as he searched for a full-time replacement for Joe Greiner.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former Open champion has hired<\/a> Tony Finau’s former caddie for the first leg of the PGA Tour’s playoffs which begin tomorrow in Memphis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As for the reunion, Westwood joked to bunkered<\/a> that Foster could just do with a bit of exercise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Curious to see what he’s been doing for the last few years,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This will be Foster’s first experience inside the ropes at a LIV Golf<\/a> event.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Westwood is in good form, having rolled back the years with an excellent performance at last month’s Open in Northern Ireland.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old qualified for his first major since the 2022 Open at St Andrews and finished in a share of 34th with fellow LIV recruits Jon Rahm<\/a>, Sergio Garcia and PGA Tour<\/a> star Justin Thomas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“At the age of 52, you don’t know how many Open Championships you\u2019ve got left,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I was just trying to enjoy playing in front of what I think is the best fans in the world at The Open Championship and enjoying that walk coming up the 18th green.<\/p>\n

“I had a fantastic week, really enjoyed it, and I might try and qualify next year for Birkdale because I love Birkdale as well.”<\/p>\n

Whilst Westwood will be thrilled with his outing at Royal Portrush, his future with LIV Golf is very much in the balance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He’s currently 46th in the overall standings and players that finish 49th and below are relegated.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His Majesticks teammates Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter also face the boot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

LIV Golf have confirmed team captains are no longer immune from relegation<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is understood the decision is part of the PIF-backed breakaway’s attempt to get OWGR recognition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
