Tommy Fleetwood has set himself a unique target of attempting to play left-handed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fleetwood<\/a> took to the range to play using his weaker hand as he vowed: “It’s time for me to start over.”<\/p>\n

The Englishman explained he hopes to break 100 playing left-handed in a bid to follow in the footsteps of some of golf’s best lefties.<\/p>\n

Most notable amongst them is six-time major winner Phil Mickelson, but Fleetwood has some way to go to reach his level based on his first attempts.<\/p>\n

In a trailer for the series shared to social media, the world no.15 took to the range for the first time.<\/p>\n

Narrating the footage, he said: “Dear golf\u2026 I don\u2019t know how else to say this\u2026 But it\u2019s time for me to start over. Like all the way over.<\/p>\n

“Why am I doing this? Because this is the start of my quest to break 100 left-handed.”<\/p>\n

The video then shows Fleetwood hitting a series of shots with the ball barely leaving the floor as it flew off in various directions.<\/p>\n

He was able to see the funny side, though, as he let out a smile whilst those watching on laughed at his expense.<\/p>\n

However, his slow start was followed by footage of a series of well-struck shots as he quipped: “That’s actually good.”<\/p>\n

Fleetwood even carried the ball 222 yards with his weak side after breaking out his driver before a slam-dunk chip shot in a preview of his left-handed short game.<\/p>\n

The hand change comes just weeks after Fleetwood missed out on a maiden PGA Tour win<\/a> at the Travelers Championship.<\/p>\n

Having held the 54-hole lead heading into the final round, the 34-year-old appeared on course to end his title wait.<\/p>\n

A late collapse saw Fleetwood bogey two of the final three holes, though, as he finished one shot behind Keegan Bradley in a tie for second.<\/p>\n

It was his sixth runner-up finish on the PGA Tour<\/a>, leaving him winless from 161 starts.<\/p>\n

Fleetwood has also achieved 42 top 10s and has twice finished second at majors, with those coming at the 2018 US Open and a year later at The Open.<\/p>\n

Despite not winning an event, the fan favourite has earned over $31million on the PGA Tour during his career.<\/p>\n

Fleetwood’s next chance to end his wait for victory comes this weekend at the FedEx St. Jude Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The event is the first of three in the FedEx Cup play-offs<\/a> this month.<\/p>\n

He will tee off for his first round alongside US Open champion JJ Spaun at 6.35pm BST on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Fleetwood heads into the event ninth in the FedEx Cup standings and is all but assured of a place at the Tour Championship in two weeks time.<\/p>\n

Fans can also expect to see him at the Ryder Cup in September as Bethpage Black plays host.<\/p>\n
