{"id":325013,"date":"2025-08-07T11:10:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T11:10:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/325013\/"},"modified":"2025-08-07T11:10:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T11:10:16","slug":"help-support-liverpool-university-hospitals-at-bike-aintree-this-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/325013\/","title":{"rendered":"Help support Liverpool University Hospitals at Bike Aintree this September"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Merseyside BAFTA award winning TV presenter, Simon O\u2019Brien is raising funds for Liverpool University Hospitals with a new bike ride. <\/p>\n<p>Dubbed \u2018Le Tour Merseyside\u2019 on 14 September, the ride starts at the renowned Aintree Racecourse and offers a 33, 55 or 77-mile route for all cycling abilities across the Merseyside and Lancashire countryside.<\/p>\n<p>The Liverpool-born city region cycling commissioner, Simon O\u2019Brien is supporting Le Tour de Merseyside hot on the heels of July\u2019s Tour De France as cycling fever hits the streets of Merseyside offering the perfect event for cyclists to challenge themselves.<\/p>\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are lucky our city is on the doorstep of some of the UK\u2019s most spectacular countryside and what better way to enjoy it than on two wheels while raising money for some of Liverpool\u2019s best-known hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot only is it great exercise, being out in the open supports good mental health and with a range of distances to tackle there\u2019s something for all the family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think every person in our city has either been treated themselves or has had a loved one cared for by these hospitals and this is a fun and healthy way to give something back. The event will raise funds to support the care patients receive right across the city by providing those \u2018above and beyond\u2019 extras the NHS just can\u2019t afford in these difficult times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"986\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/unnamed-1-1-e1754561135657.jpg\" alt=\"Bike Aintree\" class=\"wp-image-223917\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The event is underpinned by a free family fun day at Aintree Racecourse featuring activities and events that promote improved mental health, wellbeing and active lifestyles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bike Aintree is sponsored by construction partners Vinci Building and Rob Byrnes, Business Support Director, said:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTaking part in Bike Aintree will be a fantastic experience \u2013 not just as cyclists, but as proud representatives of VINCI Building.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs our first charity cycling event for Aintree, Broadgreen and Royal Liverpool hospitals, it will be a privilege to support the incredible work they do.
