Bike riders race down a road with spectators cheering them on from either side of the road.\" class=\"sc-d1200759-0 dvfjxj\"\/>SWpix.com<\/p>\n<p>The Lloyd&#8217;s Tour of Britain Men cycling event will come through parts of Suffolk on 2 and 3 September<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Stage routes for the Lloyd&#8217;s Tour of Britain Men cycling event have been announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Suffolk will play <a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cj0mpyjg3eeo\" class=\"sc-f9178328-0 bGFWdi\" rel=\"noopener\">host to two stages<\/a> of the biggest professional cycling event on 2 and 3 September.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">One route will pass through East Suffolk, then Mid Suffolk, and Babergh the following day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The district councils said they were excited and believed their communities would enjoy the event. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1753966091_383_grey-placeholder.png\" class=\"sc-d1200759-0 dkIvM hide-when-no-script\" aria-label=\"image unavailable\"\/><img decoding=\"async\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/7d4cda60-7372-11f0-a20f-3b86f375586a.jpg.webp.webp\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Lloyd's Tour of Britain A map of East Suffolk and a green line that shows the route the cycling event will pass through.\" class=\"sc-d1200759-0 dvfjxj\"\/>Lloyd&#8217;s Tour of Britain<\/p>\n<p>The first stage of the race will pass through East Suffolk<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">On 2 September, hundreds of riders will begin the race from Woodbridge at 11:00 BST, covering a total of 161.4km (100.4 miles) to Southwold.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">It will be the first time the opening stage of the race has been held in Suffolk since 2012. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Throughout this stage, riders will pass through Grundisburgh, Aldeburgh, Saxmundham and Framlingham before an intermediate sprint takes place on Walpole Road in Halesworth. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Riders will then come through Bungay before coming through Beccles, Wrentham and Reydon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The stage will then finish on North Parade in Southwold, expected at around 15:03.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/1753966091_383_grey-placeholder.png\" class=\"sc-d1200759-0 dkIvM hide-when-no-script\" aria-label=\"image unavailable\"\/><img decoding=\"async\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/8c35d6d0-7372-11f0-a20f-3b86f375586a.jpg.webp.webp\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Lloyd's Tour of Britain A map of Mid Suffolk and Babergh districts with a green line showing the route the bike riders will take during the race. \" class=\"sc-d1200759-0 dvfjxj\"\/>Lloyd&#8217;s Tour of Britain<\/p>\n<p>The following day the race passes through Mid Suffolk and Babergh <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">For the first time ever, Suffolk will host two stages of the race in the same edition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">On 3 September, the next stage will start and finish in Stowmarket. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The 169.3km (105.3 mile) leg starts at 11:00, heading towards Stowupland and Forward Green.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The route then passes through Debenham and Bedfield with an intermediate sprint in Stradbroke.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Riders then will head to Eye, Lavenham, and Sudbury, before turning back towards Stowmarket, finishing on Ipswich Street at 15:15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Following the Suffolk stages, the race then moves to Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, as well as to Ampthill in Bedfordshire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">It will later conclude in Wales on 7 September.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Worked hard&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Seamus Bennett, East Suffolk Council&#8217;s assistant cabinet member, said they were &#8220;thrilled&#8221; to host stage one, while Andy Mellen, leader of Mid Suffolk District Council, added they were also &#8220;delighted&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">John Ward, Babergh District Council leader, said he hoped the district would make for &#8220;spectacular viewing&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Jonathan Day, managing director of British Cycling Events, said the team had &#8220;worked hard&#8221;
