But the United States economy seems to disagree: Inflation, which has remained fairly tame, is slowly creeping up because of tariffs.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cme17ww7w0009356nu6s2sar0@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Trump\u2019s latest round of higher taxes on imports, which went into effect Thursday, will immediately make imported goods from impacted countries more expensive in the United States.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cme17m02t0001356njzc7iz80@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The new tariffs will probably raise prices on:\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cme17xzbq000c356nsangzjar@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            <strong>Electronics: <\/strong>Computers are among the top goods the United States imported last year, mostly from high-tariff nations, including China, Mexico, Taiwan, Vietnam and Malaysia.<strong> <\/strong>\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cme17x9qj000b356n4o7r12np@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            <strong>Clothing: <\/strong>America buys much of its apparel from other countries. Top destinations include China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India and Indonesia.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cme17yt67000e356neb6z8mpv@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            <strong>Watches: <\/strong>Wristwatches are one of the top exports to the United States from Switzerland, which now has a 39% tariff.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cme17yxzj000g356nzzsqwpfn@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            <strong>Shoes: <\/strong>China, Vietnam and Indonesia are top destinations where shoes are made and tariffs are set to start at a minimum of 19% for the three countries, come next week.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cme17z0r6000i356nbnmkzi8m@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            <strong>Alcohol: <\/strong>Tariffs on goods from the European Union, a main supplier of alcoholic beverages, including wine, whiskey and vodka, rose to 15% Thursday.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cme17z4k7000k356n50x4mytp@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            <strong>Furniture: <\/strong>Vietnam is the top source of imported furniture, followed by China.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cme17zeik000m356nw9gpmi7a@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            <strong>Toys: <\/strong>Mostly made in China and Vietnam.
