{"id":325447,"date":"2025-08-07T14:52:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T14:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/325447\/"},"modified":"2025-08-07T14:52:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T14:52:11","slug":"shropshire-hospital-trust-welcomes-167-new-resident-doctors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/325447\/","title":{"rendered":"Shropshire hospital trust welcomes 167 new resident doctors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new resident doctors, previously known as junior doctors, were welcomed at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sath.nhs.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust<\/a> (SaTH), which runs The Royal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shropshirestar.com\/news\/local-hubs\/shrewsbury\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shrewsbury<\/a> Hospital (RSH) and The Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shropshirestar.com\/news\/local-hubs\/telford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Telford<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At SaTH, the resident doctors will continue their training and work across a wide range of specialties, including medicine, surgery and women and children\u2019s services.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/bf8cad05-5697-4481-9c7d-6ed49db04691.jpg\"   alt=\"The 167 new resident doctors\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"w-full max-w-none\"\/>The 167 new resident doctors<\/p>\n<p>Senior clinicians and other staff at the trust delivered an induction programme to the resident doctors covering a number of topics to help the doctors become familiar with their new working environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The resident doctors will now move on to practical and ward-based learning which, supported with an extensive teaching programme, will help them to progress in their chosen field of medicine.<\/p>\n<p>Dr John Jones, medical director at SaTH, said: \u201cI am delighted to have welcomed 167 new resident doctors to the trust. The doctors range from straight out of university, to final year before becoming a consultant. With them they bring experience and passion to help us to continue to provide excellent care to the communities we serve.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Medical Education Team at SaTH collaborates with educational leads and training programme directors to deliver education, support, and guidance. They will play a crucial role in assisting resident doctors in the upcoming months.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Both RSH and PRH have access to a multi-disciplinary Education Centre that supports the training and development of resident doctors, with a focus on interprofessional learning with other healthcare professionals.
