The Crofters Right originally featured a bar, a 110-capacity live music room, and a club space for 250 people. It\u00a0 is widely considered to have been a cornerstone of DIY and grassroots music in Bristol, an enviable list of DJs and bands played during its lifetime.<\/p>\n
It was shuttered in July 2024, with its then-owners citing “significantly reduced customer numbers” as a result of the cost-of-living crisis as one of the primary reasons. Initial plans to re-open the following month were stalled, and the Stokes Croft address has remained unoccupied since.<\/p>\n
News of the return comes just weeks after one of Bristol’s biggest electronic music venues, Motion, closed for good after failing to negotiate a new lease with the building owners.
