{"id":325587,"date":"2025-08-07T16:04:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T16:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/325587\/"},"modified":"2025-08-07T16:04:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T16:04:10","slug":"germany-eyes-blue-hydrogen-as-cabinet-backs-ccs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/325587\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany eyes blue hydrogen as cabinet backs CCS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            Draft law opens door to large-scale carbon capture and storage, and could unleash investment in gas-based hydrogen projects<\/p>\n<p class=\"shortened\">Germany\u2019s cabinet has adopted draft legislation allowing the widespread deployment of CCS and CCUS, in a move that could spur investment in blue hydrogen production.<br \/>\nThe draft law, which will need to be debated further before final adoption, also allows for CCS to abate gas-fired power plants, which the government accepts will continue to play a key role in the energy mix despite the rapid expansion of the country\u2019s renewables sector.
