West Midlands Police have released a CCTV appeal after a Birmingham pensioner was left injured in a robbery.<\/p>\n

The robbery, which unfolded in Kitts Green, occurred after a man was allowed into a woman’s home allegedly “pretending to be a gardener” said the force.<\/p>\n

Officers said the woman’s arm was injured in the incident.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police<\/a> said they are in contact with the injured woman as a “thorough investigation” gets underway.<\/p>\n

The incident happened just before midday on July 21, and police have urged members of the public to get in touch with any information that may help officers.<\/p>\n

A CCTV image has been issued of a man in a dark top, jeans and carrying what appears to be a yellow shopping bag.<\/p>\n

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said on August 7: “Recognise this man? We\u2019d like to speak to him after a woman, aged 90, was hurt in a robbery in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It happened in the Kitts Green area just before midday on Monday 21 July.<\/p>\n

“A man was allowed into the woman\u2019s home after pretending to be her gardener.<\/p>\n

“Once inside, the house was searched and the woman\u2019s handbag and some paperwork were stolen.<\/p>\n

“Sadly, the woman suffered an injury to her arm as the man left the house.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re in contact with the woman and her family, and we\u2019re carrying out a thorough investigation including a review of CCTV around the area.<\/p>\n

“As part of our enquiries, we\u2019d like to speak to the man shown here.<\/p>\n
