The real reason for Prince William and Prince Andrew\u2019s<\/a> rumored feud has finally been revealed, and it has to do with Andrew\u2019s alleged \u201crude\u201d comment toward William\u2019s wife, Kate Middleton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to Andrew Lownie\u2019s bombshell book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York<\/a>
\n, William has had a \u201ctense\u201d relationship with his uncle since his 2014 sex trafficking lawsuit and connection to convicted sex offenders Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell started to affect the reputation of the British royal family. <\/p>\n

However, things went from bad to worse when Andrew made an alleged \u201crude\u201d comment toward Kate, though the details of what he said weren\u2019t revealed. The book also reported that William has been trying for years to get Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, evicted from the Royal Lodge<\/a>, the 30-room mansion the former couple live in on the Windsor Castle grounds. A source told Lownie that William wants to evict Andrew because he believes his uncle hasn\u2019t maintained the property and it\u2019s fallen into a state of disrepair over the past year. <\/p>\n

Rumors of a feud between William and Andrew have swirled for years, however, royal fans took notice when William, Kate, and their three children\u2014Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis\u2014were missing from the royal family\u2019s Easter Sunday service at St George\u2019s Chapel in April 2025, which Andrew made a rare appearance at. <\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam has no time for his uncle. This Easter was about spending time with his own family, but he would far prefer a situation where he doesn\u2019t have to spend time with him,\u201d a source told The Mirror<\/a> at the time. Another insider added, \u201cThe Duke seems to be in the habit of being a significant contributor of headaches for the family and many have run out of patience with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

News of Andrew\u2019s<\/a> alleged \u201crude\u201d comment toward Kate also comes after British royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News<\/a> in May 2025 that William plans to exile Andrew<\/a> once he becomes king after harboring a \u201cgrudge against his disgraced uncle\u201d for a long time. <\/p>\n

\u201cPrince William<\/a> has long had a strained and distant relationship with Andrew,\u201d Fordwich said of William\u2019s plans once he takes the crown after his father, King Charles<\/a>, either steps down or dies \u201cAndrew\u2019s future<\/a> within the royal family is beyond bleak, since Prince William is firmly opposed to any public rehabilitation with no foreseeable path back.
