Mariah Carey<\/a> just learned that Katy Perry went to space \u2013 and it was frankly iconic.<\/p>\n

\u2018Would you fancy going to space?\u2019 Scott Mills<\/a> asked the pop sensation and certifiable Queen of Christmas in an interview for BBC Radio 2. \u2018You know, like Katy Perry<\/a> did?\u2019 <\/p>\n

A fairly innocuous question, seeing as everyone in the world was aware of the Dark Horse\u2019s controversial<\/a> and heavily criticised\u00a0all-female Blue Origin<\/a>\u00a010-minute space trip to the K\u00e1rm\u00e1n line \u2013 well, not everyone.<\/p>\n

\u2018Did she go to space?\u2019 asked Mariah, seemingly genuinely confused.<\/p>\n

\u2018Mmhmm,\u2019 Scott said with a nod. \u2018Not for long. I think it was\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Where did she go?\u2019 said Mariah looking around at the crew and seemingly absolutely baffled, perhaps assuming she went to the moon or to a space station.<\/p>\n

A crewmember informed her that she \u2018just went into orbit and back\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018She\u2019s like floating in the\u2026And this is true?\u2019 she said seeming more baffled than ever. Scott confirmed he had not made it up the news.<\/p>\n

\u2018Wow,\u2019 she said in a completely unenthused tone. \u2018Alright Katy,\u2019 she added, seeming completely unimpressed.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m not mad at her, that\u2019s pretty amazing,\u2019 she added.<\/p>\n

The real question is of course, does Mariah see herself going to space one day?<\/p>\n

\u2018I think I\u2019ve done enough,\u2019 she said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

Jeff Bezos,<\/a>\u00a0founder of Amazon, was the billionaire tech oligarch behind the space flight Blue Origin, and his\u00a0fianc\u00e9e, Lauren S\u00e1nchez<\/a>,\u00a0was part of the crew.<\/p>\n

The other women on the flight included TV host and journalist Gayle King, NASA aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, research scientist Amanda Nguyen and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn.<\/p>\n

Footage from inside the vessel showed the crew floating around before coming together for a cheer, yelling: \u2018Take up space!\u2019<\/p>\n

Video footage showed Katy holding a flower and gazing into the camera while floating around the cabin. After landing on Earth, she held the daisy to the sky and then kissed the ground. <\/p>\n

Although it was heavily reported at the time, Mariah was <\/p>\n
