The body of a man missing for nearly 30 years has been found in a melting glacier <\/a>in remote Pakistan<\/a>.<\/p>\n Father-of-two Naseeruddin, 33, was travelling on horseback with his brother through Kohistan in June 1997.<\/p>\n Hearing gunfire, the two men fled, with Naseeruddin sprinting into a nearby cave in\u00a0the snow-capped mountains of Lady Valley \u2013 he never came out.<\/p>\n Despite an extensive search organised by his brother, Kathiruddin, no trace of Naseeruddin was ever found, his family told The Express Tribune<\/a>. <\/p>\n Local shepherd Umar Khan discovered the hiker\u2019s body 28 years later, on August 1, inside a glacier, which has been melting for years.<\/p>\n Khan told BBC Urdu<\/a> that the body was \u2018completely intact\u2019, his clothing wasn\u2019t torn and he was still carrying his ID card.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018What I saw was unbelievable,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n Naseeruddin fled from the area as his family were squabbling with an \u2018enemy family\u2019, his brother, Kathiruddin, said.<\/p>\n Naseeruddin was finally buried on Tuesday, leaving behind a son and daughter in their 20s.<\/p>\n Son Naeem\u00a0said he hasn\u2019t stepped into his hometown for years in the daylight because of the family feud. <\/p>\n \u2018Now I have come with my father\u2019s body,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n \u2018The pain of travelling to his native area with my father after so many years cannot be described in words.\u2019<\/p>\n Police confirmed the identity of the remains as that of Naseeruddin, from Saleh Khel, a village by the Cherat mountains, home to various tribes.<\/p>\n On the day he disappeared, the two men often visited Alai, a nearby village, to buy livestock and horses to sell for money.<\/p>\n They were travelling home but took a more remote route due to the ongoing family feud when they were separated.<\/p>\n \u2018I turned back and reached the place where I saw that my brother had gone inside the cave, but there was nothing there,\u2019 said Kathiruddin.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t\t\tWhat happens when a human is frozen?\t\t\t<\/p>\n When we think of humans freezing, one thing that might come to mind is cryonics,\u00a0storing bodies at deep\u00a0freeze\u00a0until the future<\/a>.<\/p>\n But the human body cannot survive being frozen<\/a>, which happens quickly in glacier conditions. <\/p>\n The body cannot survive even the smallest internal temperature change from 37\u00b0C; hypothermia happens two degrees less than that. <\/p>\n Glaciers are full of ice, and people can\u2019t survive with ice in their bodies.
