Fiona Bruce was meant to appear on Thursday’s The One Show, alongside her Fake or Fortune co-star Philip Mould<\/p>\n

Fiona Bruce<\/a> was forced to pull out of The One Show at the last minute as host Roman Kemp shared a health update.<\/p>\n

During Thursday’s (August 7) programme opening, Roman and his co-presenter Alex Jones<\/a> welcomed Fake or Fortune expert Philip Mould, who was scheduled to appear with his co-star Fiona.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Fiona was unable to attend due to feeling unwell, with Roman providing viewers with a crucial update.<\/p>\n

“We do have to say, Fiona Bruce was meant to be here tonight alongside you, Philip, but unfortunately she’s not feeling too well. We wish her all the best,” he explained.<\/p>\n

Roman added: “Philip and Fiona have been back on our screens for Fake or Fortune, and they’ve had emotional surprises over the last few years,” reports Wales Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The popular BBC<\/a> programme investigates the origins and authenticity of significant artworks, with Philip and Fiona concentrating on a particular painting during each episode.<\/p>\n

Fake or Fortune commenced its 13th series last month, already showcasing several touching tales.<\/p>\n

The programme memorably featured a gentleman who inadvertently purchased a Winston Churchill painting, potentially valued at an astounding \u00a3600,000.<\/p>\n

Additionally, another participant was astonished to discover that his \u00a335 “trolley dash” purchase was actually worth \u00a350,000.<\/p>\n

During tonight’s The One Show appearance, Philip reflected on his most memorable moments from the current series, including the Churchill artwork discovery.<\/p>\n

“Well, there has been a few. It was for us a fabulous opening programme with a guy who bought a painting at the Ardingly Antiques Fair,” he recounted.<\/p>\n

“A lot of white vans, a lot of stands, a cornucopia of possibilities if you’ve got your eye on [something] as Barry did, because he bought a painting for \u00a3150. Unnamed, he didn’t know the subject, didn’t know the artist.<\/p>\n

“He negotiated it down to \u00a3140, took it back home, ripped off the backing paper and there was a beautiful, crisp inscription saying it had been done by Winston Churchill. Winston Churchill is, in art world<\/a> terms, a major treasure.”<\/p>\n

Philip concluded: “It was a fabulous opportunity to get to know the great statesman through something as odd as putting paint on a canvas.”<\/p>\n
