The K’s are set to headline at Salt and Tar tonight. The indie rock band from Earlestown in St Helens<\/a> are the second headliners during a weekend of music at the Bootle-based<\/a> venue. Last night, legendary singer Billy Ocean<\/a> took to the stage with support act The Real Thing.<\/p>\n The K’s is made up of Jamie Boyle (vocals\/guitar), Ryan Breslin (guitar\/keyboards), Dexter Baker (bass) and Nathan Peers (drums). Their debut album, \u2018I Wonder If The World Knows?’, was released last year. Their second album ‘Pretty on the Internet’ came out last month and debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart.<\/p>\n They have supported a range of stars from across music, including Liam Gallagher, Blossoms and Lottery Winners. They have also performed at the Reading, Leeds, Truck and This Feeling By The Sea festivals.<\/p>\n The K\u2019s will join the strong list of big names to have headlined the 3000 capacity venue, ranging from fellow rising rock \u2018n\u2019 rollers Red Rum Club through to all-time legends Tom Jones and Status Quo.<\/p>\n The K’s setlist<\/p>\n Although no official details about the setlist have been released, it is expected that the band will perform songs across their two albums. The event is scheduled to end at approximately 10pm. Stage times are currently unconfirmed but the ECHO<\/a> will update when they are released.<\/p>\n Travel information<\/p>\n Bootle<\/a> New Strand train station is a three minute walk to Salt and Tar, which is accessible via Washington Parade. The northern line offers direct trains to the station from Southport<\/a> and Liverpool. From Ormskirk<\/a> and Kirkby<\/a> change at Sandhills and get the Southport train to Bootle New Strand.
