Superstore actor Jon Miyahara has passed away at age 83.<\/p>\n

Jon, who played Brett on the comedy show from 2015 to 2021, died on Wednesday, his daughter\u00a0Pennie Cappasola told People<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His wife, Chiyo, was at his side at the time of his death, Pennie told the outlet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘He loved working on Superstore,’ Pennie told the outlet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A cause of death has not yet been revealed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Superstore star Colton Dunn appears to have been the first one to break the news as he paid a touching tribute to his co-star on the day of his death.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Superstore actor Jon Miyahara has passed away at age 83<\/p>\n

Colton praised Jon’s ability to ‘speak volumes with just a look’ as he shared photos of his late co-star.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘John Miyahara aka Brett from superstore has sadly passed away. John was a really awesome guy and as a performer could speak volumes with just a look,’ Colton, who played Garrett, wrote in a message posted Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘He was such a memorable part of the Cloud 9 team. It was an honor to know him and work with him. I was lucky enough to meet some of his family and my thoughts are with them. Rest in Peace John.’<\/p>\n

In the comments, various members of the Superstore family sent their condolences.<\/p>\n

‘Oh man! He was always so sweet! Rest in peace,’ Castmember Kelly Stables, who played Kelly, posted.<\/p>\n

‘Oh no, he was literally the sweetest man. Prayers up to his family and loved ones,’ Superstore writer and producer Sierra Teller Ornelas wrote.<\/p>\n

‘What an incredible man,’ co-star Irene White wrote.<\/p>\n

Irene, who portrayed Carol in the show, also posted to her Instagram Stories, ‘What a wonderful man. (heartbroken emoji)’ along with a photo of Jon.<\/p>\n

One Walmart manager described how the show, which followed the adventures of employees working at the big box store Cloud 9, touched his life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Rest in peace,’ he commented on Colton’s post. ‘I am currently a manager for Walmart and this show literally shows what it is to work retail and how hard working people try to survive with retail salaries and I truly love the beauty of this show. Laugh, love, and passion for the work. Thank you all of you for showing the good side of it!’<\/p>\n

Aside from Superstore, his IMDb page has one other acting credit – a part playing ‘Bob’\u00a0on a 2022 episode of Holding Tight.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jon was already retired by the time he joined the show in 2015, Colton told TMZ <\/a>of his ‘amazing’ co-star.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And Colton says his co-star worked on the show for the sheer enjoyment of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The outlet reports that paramedics were at Jon’s home in Los Angeles just over a week ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

An EMS call was placed for an elderly man who had fallen and was in pain, law enforcement sources told the site. The call was reportedly made at 7:15 on July 28.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

He was taken to a local hospital ‘awake and breathing’, police said.
