New updates have been issued regarding investigations into Liverpool’s Adelphi Hotel.<\/a> The hotel, one of the city’s most famous and historic, is the subject of separate probes after tragic and worrying incidents in recent times<\/a>.<\/p>\n The first of those incidents resulted in the death of a “kind and caring” young woman called Chloe Haynes<\/a>, who was crushed to death by a wardrobe in the city centre hotel in September 2022. Chloe, from North Wales, was just 21 when she died. After her death, Liverpool City Council’s Environmental Health department launched an investigation into the hotel<\/a>.<\/p>\n Sources stated at the time that a criminal prosecution was a possibility. In a new update, the city council suggested this investigation is nearing its conclusion.<\/p>\n A spokesperson told the ECHO: “Liverpool City Council\u2019s Environmental Health department is very close to concluding an assessment on whether to prosecute the hotel\u2019s owners regarding the death of Chloe Haynes.”<\/p>\n But that is not the only current investigation taking place into the Adelphi – which is owned and operated by Britannia Hotels. A probe was launched after another incident earlier this month.<\/a><\/p>\n This incident saw a three-year-old girl called Valencia Verdin <\/a>injured and covered in blood when a cabinet fell on her and glass smashed on her head while staying at the hotel.<\/p>\n Valencia’s mum, Danielle Kenny, told the ECHO she had decided to stay overnight at the Ranelagh Street hotel after visiting Liverpool city centre<\/a> from Widnes<\/a> with her four children.<\/p>\n She had booked a late check-out and was getting ready to bathe her nine-month-old son, Valentino, while her two daughters, Valentina, two, and Valencia, three, were in the room with her, along with her 10-year-old son Hugo. But when Valencia opened the door of a corner cabinet, Danielle said it fell and landed on the young girl<\/a>.<\/p>\n Danielle, 35, said: “She’s tried to open the door on the bottom half of the unit and it’s toppled over. She was trapped underneath it and the top half was glass, so her head has gone straight through the glass.<\/p>\n “I’ve jumped up as soon as I’ve heard the bang and her scream. I’ve took the unit off her and her whole face and head was pouring with blood so I’ve quickly got a towel, put it over her head and I just ran out of the room with her and down to reception.”<\/p>\n![\"Danielle](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1_BHR_LEC_050825_ADELPHIJPEG.jpg\")
