{"id":327649,"date":"2025-08-08T10:38:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T10:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/327649\/"},"modified":"2025-08-08T10:38:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T10:38:10","slug":"antoine-dupont-makes-very-intelligent-decision-for-springboks-showdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/327649\/","title":{"rendered":"Antoine Dupont makes &#8216;very intelligent&#8217; decision for Springboks showdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Antoine Dupont won\u2019t be rushed back to full fitness, having spent the last five months on the sidelines.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The scrum-half ruptured a cruciate ligament in his right knee during the 2025 Six Nations match against Ireland and has been sidelined ever since.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/tag\/antoine-dupont\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dupont<\/a> has been rehabilitating the injury for the past five months, and there was a hope that he would recover in time for the November internationals.<\/p>\n<p>Rehab continues<\/p>\n<p>He spent two weeks in Switzerland, at the H\u00f4pital de La Tour based in Meyrin, a sports medicine centre where he followed\u00a0\u201ca structured and intensive program, designed to support him towards an optimal return to the field,\u201d\u00a0as stated in a Toulouse press release.<\/p>\n<p>The French captain has now returned to his club and will continue his rehab at the Stade Ernest-Wallon from next week.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to L\u2019Equipe last month, Dupont said that he won\u2019t be rushing back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will be eight months on from my injury,\u201d the Toulouse half-back said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s a reasonable amount of time. I hope everything will go well between now and then.
