Riven with a choppy\u00a0Johnny Marr\u00a0jangle and a dubby heart beating to distant echoes of\u00a0The Clash, the summer single lands as festival stages beckon, both at home and overseas.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing that their journey from their unassuming, knock-about early days in Wigan will take them to the\u00a0Singapore F1 Grand Prix\u00a0and on to their first ever tour dates in Australia and Japan this autumn, the thirst for live experience goes barely sated for both the band and their community of fans. Before approaching passport control for some of the furthest flung and hottest dates in their eight-year reign, The Lathums add\u00a0Cobblestones\u00a0to their set list options ahead of their return to the North West this November.<\/p>\n<p>Never taken for granted, but five years since their breakthrough with indie playlist-staple singles,\u00a0The Great Escape\u00a0and\u00a0Fight On, The Lathums chalk up major live milestones as near-routine having toyed with\u00a0Glastonbury\u00a0crowds, played to 11,500 at their\u00a0Robin Park\u00a0homecoming\u00a0and sold out their 14-date 2025\u00a0Matter Does Not Define\u00a0Tour including two dates at the\u00a0O2 Apollo, Manchester. Looking to the other side of the world for their next domain the sky is clearly no limit, but before then the band returns to\u00a0their third Top 5 Official UK Album Chart release, revealing the unreleased\u00a0Cobblestones\u00a0as one track on a four-track\u00a0Matter Does Not Define Bonus EP, released on limited white label vinyl on Fri 22 August 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Singer and songwriter, Alex Moore, says:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2019Cobblestones\u2019 started when I was in my teens and started paying close attention to the world around me: the streets, the buildings, the way history leaves its mark. Where I\u2019m from, cobblestones seem to be everywhere, and they started to feel like a symbol for the stories and truths buried under modern life. The song is about what gets covered up, not just by concrete or tarmac, but by politics, ego, and time.
