If so, put on your walking shoes and take part in this year\u2019s event, whether it\u2019s in person or virtually.<\/p>\n<p>Tie up those laces and join James on Saturday 7 June by walking 10 miles from Oxwich to Mumbles in aid of the lifesaving charity.<\/p>\n<p>The Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise \u00a311.2 million every ensure to keep its helicopters in the air and its rapid response vehicles on the road.<\/p>\n<p>There are two events as part for this year\u2019s Walk Wales, if the terrain isn\u2019t for you or you can\u2019t make it on the day, you can take part in Walk Wales virtually by completing 60 miles during the month of June.<\/p>\n<p>James will not only be taking on the in-person event but will also be challenging himself to the 60 miles during the month &#8211; sharing updates with those who are also taking part along the way.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So, whichever you choose, the virtual event, in person or both, you will be taking on Walk Wales with James Hook raising vital funds for a lifesaving service.<\/p>\n<p>\u202fIt\u2019s your walk, your way and every step makes a lifesaving difference!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The annual Walk Wales fundraiser allows participants to walk, jog or run, different distances each year, whilst raising funds.\u202fSo, if you\u2019re feeling a bit unmotivated or are in need of a challenge, then this is the event for you.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the last five years the successful Walk Wales event has raised an incredible \u00a3119,000 for the cause.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Walk Wales 2025 is open to people of all ages and the beauty of the virtual challenge allows \u2018walkers\u2019 the chance to either get out and about and explore Wales or to get their steps in at home, doing gardening, taking the dog for a walk, or even walking up and down the stairs!\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ruby Leonard, Wales Air Ambulance\u2019s Events and Partnerships Fundraiser, said: \u201cWalk Wales is wonderful fundraising initiative, which helps people keep fit whilst doing something good for the people of Wales. We\u2019re delighted that our ambassador James Hook is joining us in this year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year is slightly different to usual, we have our popular virtual event as well as the ten-mile terrain with James. It is an exciting opportunity to get together with a former Wales rugby legend,<\/p>\n<p>while supporting our lifesaving service. James is a wonder ambassador for our Charity and we\u2019re extremely grateful for his commitment in helping raise funds for our charity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese two events are suited for people of all ages, and we hope the people of Wales, once again, get behind us to help us raise much-needed funds for our lifesaving charity. Let\u2019s Walk Wales together!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Entry to the \u2018Walk Wales with James Hook\u2019 in-person event is \u00a310, and participants are expected to raise \u00a350 sponsorship. They will then receive a free Wales Air Ambulance t-shirt when they register at the event on the day.<\/p>\n<p>Entry to the traditional month-long 60 miles Walk Wales virtual fundraiser is free of charge. Walkers can claim a free t-shirt when they\u2019ve raised \u00a350 for the Wales Air Ambulance.<\/p>\n<p>Participants for the virtual Walk Wales fundraiser will receive a medal if they raise \u00a3100 and their name will go into a prize draw for an air base visit if they raise \u00a3150.<\/p>\n<p>Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient\u202fand, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.\u202fFor the patient, this can mean hours saved when compared to standard care and is proven to\u202fgreatly improve survival and early recovery.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For more information on how you can enter the terrain or virtual Walk Wales event visit www.walesairambulance.com\/walkwaleswithjameshook<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/4992fd1f-5689-4d5f-b3a3-7550ae83cdf0.jpg\"   alt=\"Walk Wales with James Hook poster\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"w-full max-w-none\"\/>Walk Wales with James Hook poster<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Would you like to \u2018Walk Wales with ex-Wales rugby legend James Hook\u2019?
