{"id":327979,"date":"2025-08-08T13:33:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T13:33:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/327979\/"},"modified":"2025-08-08T13:33:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T13:33:10","slug":"teofimo-lopez-offered-unification-fight-by-undefeated-world-champion-easy-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/327979\/","title":{"rendered":"Teofimo Lopez Offered Unification Fight By Undefeated World Champion: &#8220;Easy Work&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former unified lightweight champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/topic\/teofimo-lopez\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Teofimo Lopez<\/a> appears to have been offered a chance to unify the super-lightweight division next.<\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old from Brooklyn, New York currently holds the WBO super-lightweight title, making several successful defences of his crown since he dethroned former undisputed champion Josh Taylor back in June of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>He made his most recent ring appearance at Times Square in New York on May 2, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/boxing\/story\/_\/id\/44973123\/teofimo-lopez-defeats-arnold-barboza-unanimous-decision-retain-wbo-junior-welterweight-championship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defeating mandatory challenger and fellow countryman Arnold Barboza Jr via unanimous decision<\/a> to retain his WBO crown for the third time.<\/p>\n<p>As \u2018The Takeover\u2019 prepares to make his return to the ring, which could come before the end of the year, the 28-year-old appears to have been offered to chance to unify the 140lb division against an unbeaten world champion next.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HeIsRichardson\/status\/1953154581472350529?t=gcklEpo6-4NKZXxWzMiBAw&amp;s=19\">Posting on social media<\/a>, reigning IBF super-lightweight champion Richardson Hitchins expressed an interest in facing Lopez next, claiming his fellow countryman would be \u2018easy work\u2019.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI want Teofimo Lopez after that I want Devin Haney, easy work, drops the f***ing mic.
