Gervonta Davis<\/a> may be forced to go down a different route after talks regarding his rematch with Lamont Roach<\/a> seem to have gone quiet.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old from Baltimore had been pencilled in to clash with Roach for the second time after their first encounter back in March ended in controversy.<\/p>\n

The fight was declared a draw after a competitive 12-rounds at the Barclays Center in New York<\/a>, although many viewers believed that Roach had done enough to dethrone \u2018Tank\u2019 of his WBA lightweight title and hand him the first defeat of his career.<\/p>\n

As the boxing world awaits news of the much anticipated rematch between the lightweight stars, Roach\u2019s father and trainer Lamont Sr shared a disappointing update<\/a> on the current situation surrounding their second encounter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe ain\u2019t heard nothing about no later date yet. We was told it could get pushed back a week or two, but then that went away too. It pretty much wasn\u2019t happening right then.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In light of this news, Davis may need to take a different approach ahead of his ring return, opening the door for a potential clash with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After Pacquiao made a sensational return to the ring against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios<\/a> last month, the 46-year-old\u2019s manager Sean Gibbons spoke to The Mayweather Channel<\/a> and welcomed a potential clash between Pacquiao and Davis.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, if Manny wants to continue fighting, there\u2019s fighters like Rolly Romero, there\u2019s fighters like Gervonta Davis.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It appears that \u2018PacMan\u2019 is also open to facing the hard-hitting unbeaten lightweight champion, revealing in an interview with Seconds Out<\/a> that he \u2018isn\u2019t scared\u2019 of Davis.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can fight anybody, even like Gervonta Davis \u2026 I\u2019m not scared of anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On the potential weight for the fight, Pacquiao previously stated he would come down to 145<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he want, then if he come up to 147 then we can fight \u2026 145 maybe. [His punch power] is not a problem for me because I\u2019m experienced fighter.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Pacquiao fought to a majority decision draw against Barrios on July 19, falling short in his attempt at becoming the oldest world welterweight champion of all time.<\/p>\n
