\n Forecasters are warning of another heatwave for the start of next week.\n<\/p>\n
\n West Yorkshire Police has now issued advice to residents in a bid to tackle burglaries.\n<\/p>\n
\n A force spokesperson said: “As the temperatures rise, so do opportunities for burglars.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Open windows, unlocked doors\u00a0and poor lighting can make your home an easy target – especially under the cover of darkness.”\n<\/p>\n
\n They added: “Lock all ground floor windows and doors.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Keep valuables – especially car keys – out of sight.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Consider installing dusk-to-dawn lighting.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Make sure your property is well-lit and visible.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Remember –\u00a0offenders don’t want to be seen.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Let’s not make it easy for them.”\n<\/p>\n
