A security alert in Co Tyrone which forced some residents from their homes has ended. <\/p>\n

The operation began in Moy yesterday evening.<\/p>\n

Some homes were evacuated following the discovery of the suspicious object, with the Oakfield Gardens area of the town cordoned off. <\/p>\n

A local sports club opened its doors to those evacuated.<\/p>\n

SDLP councillor Karol McQuade said a controlled explosion had been carried out on the suspect device.<\/p>\n

Thus morning, the PSNI said: “Following the conclusion of police enquiries, we can confirm that the security alert in the Oakfield Gardens area has now ended. Residents who were evacuated earlier are now able to return to their homes.<\/p>\n
