{"id":33007,"date":"2025-04-19T13:10:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-19T13:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/33007\/"},"modified":"2025-04-19T13:10:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-19T13:10:08","slug":"netflix-is-revamping-search-with-ai-to-improve-discovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/33007\/","title":{"rendered":"Netflix is revamping search with AI to improve discovery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Netflix is building a new search experience aimed at improving the discovery experience, and it\u2019s going to use AI to do it, the company\u2019s CEO Greg Peters said during its first-quarter results conference call.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peters said Netflix is working on \u201cinteractive search that\u2019s based on generative technologies\u201d to help people find different titles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Answering an analyst\u2019s question, Peters said the company\u2019s most popular titles that dominate popular conversation draw 1% of traffic, and because of this trend, improving discovery and recommendation is important to the company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere is more room to improve the discovery and recommendation experience, and therefore provide more value for members, and therefore find the biggest audiences for our titles,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-04-11\/netflix-tests-new-ai-search-engine-to-recommend-shows-movies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Bloomberg<\/a> reported that Netflix has been testing OpenAI-powered search with select customers in Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company, which also started testing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/6\/6\/24172351\/netflix-redesign-homepage-experience-test\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a new home page design on its TV app<\/a> that brought a new way to display show titles and descriptions, plans to roll it out widely later this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis [Homepage redesign] is something that we hadn\u2019t made big structural changes to in over a decade. We believe that this will significantly improve Netflix\u2019s discovery experience.
