<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/music\/oasis-edinburgh-council-scottish-secretary-ian-murray-b2803876.html\">predicted Oasis fans would be \u201crowdy\u201d and \u201cintoxicated\u201d<\/a> during the rock band\u2019s shows in the city. <\/p>\n<p>A number of concerns <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/music\/reviews\/oasis-review-cardiff-liam-noel-gallagher-setlist-songs-b2781709.html\">about the gigs <\/a>were raised at a safety briefing in October last year involving the council, promoter DF concerts, security firm G4S, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/police-scotland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Police Scotland<\/a>, the Scottish Ambulance Service and city transport providers. <\/p>\n<p>It noted the crowd could feature a number of \u201cmiddle-aged men\u201d who would \u201ctake up more room\u201d in comparison to the audience who attended <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/taylor-swift\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s run of shows at Murrayfield Stadium last summer. <\/p>\n<p>The council\u2019s comments were made public under a freedom of information request by the Scottish Sun, as<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/music\/news\/oasis-cardiff-setlist-noel-liam-hug-b2782686.html\"> the Oasis \u201825 reunion tour<\/a> continued its UK run.<\/p>\n<p>Performing at the stadium on Friday (8 August), Liam branded the council a \u201cbunch of snakes\u201d and said his band were \u201cstill waiting for our apology\u201d, the<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cy7y571dl7yo\"> BBC<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in front of around 70,000 fans, he said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/britpop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Britpop<\/a> icons were bringing \u201c\u00a31bn to this city\u201d before claiming none of the crowd would swallow swords\u201d and perform \u201cpoor magic tricks\u201d. <\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/music\/news\/oasis-liam-gallagher-noel-fans-b2770413.html\">When the report first emerged<\/a>, the \u201cRock \u2018N\u2019 Roll Star\u201d singer wrote on social media: \u201cTo the Edinburgh council, I\u2019ve heard what you said about Oasis fans and quite frankly your attitude f****** stinks I\u2019d leave town that day if I was any of you lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a second post, he added: \u201cI\u2019d love to see a picture of all the people on the Edinburgh council, bet there\u2019s some real stunning individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Scottish Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/ian-murray\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ian Murray<\/a>, an Edinburgh MP,<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/music\/oasis-edinburgh-council-scottish-secretary-ian-murray-b2803876.html\"> called the council href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/matt-forde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt Forde<\/a> during a talk at the Fringe festival. \u201cYou can go and see Scotland versus the All Blacks on a Saturday at three o\u2019clock and get as ratted as you want sitting watching the rugby, and people do, they spend most of their time at the bar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I remember my team, Hearts, played Celtic there the following day on the Sunday, when Hampden was out of use for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/commonwealth-games\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Commonwealth Games<\/a>, and there was a complete ban on drinking in the stands for the football fans.
