<\/p>\n Like every other couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had their share of ups and downs.<\/a> In his memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex opened up about one such serious argument. He candidly revealed that he once \u2018snapped\u2019 at Markle after drinking too much wine and having to deal with harsh press coverage. He also shared how deeply hurt she felt after his blowout.<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Harry, who has been married to Markle since 2018, explained that she had said something which he \u2018took the wrong way\u2019 given their cultural difference. As reported by Us Weekly,<\/a> he penned, \u201cMaybe the wine went to my head. Maybe the weeks of battling the press had worn me down. I was also just oversensitive that night\u2026I snapped at her, spoke to her harshly [and] cruelly.\u201d He added, \u201cAs the words left my mouth, I could feel everything in the room come to a stop. The gravy stopped bubbling, and the molecules of air stopped orbiting.\u201d<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Opening up about the aftermath of the fight, he detailed that his wife disappeared for \u201815 minutes\u2019 before he found her sitting alone in their bedroom. He recounted, \u201c[She asked,] \u2019Where did you ever hear a man speak like that to a woman? Did you overhear adults speak that way when you were growing up?\u2019 I cleared my throat, looked away [and responded], \u2018Yes.\u2019\u201d The Prince revealed that Markle made it clear that she would not \u2018tolerate\u2019 a partner who spoke to her like that. She allegedly also told him that \u201cshe wasn\u2019t going to raise children in an atmosphere of anger or disrespect.\u201d<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The fight proved too much for Harry, who ended up going to therapy to deal with his pent-up anger. He further explained that he and Markle \u2018knew\u2019 his outbursts were rooted in much bigger issues. He wrote, \u201cI\u2019ve tried therapy,\u2019 I told her. \u2018Willy told me to go. Never found the right person.\u2019 [It] didn\u2019t work. \u2018No,\u2019 she said softly. \u2018Try again.\u2019\u201d The Duke has since been a fervent advocate for therapy and discussing its importance on his mental health.<\/a> During a 2022 appearance at the Masters of Scale Summit, he once stressed, \u201cI was moving through life thinking there was only one way to live. And therapy burst that bubble\u2026I realized that now I have perspective and a great understanding of my value.\u201d<\/p>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Harry and Markle have been plagued by divorce rumors in recent years since they made more solo appearances. Last year, speculation ran rampant that the couple was undergoing a \u2018professional separation,\u2019<\/a> which fueled the rumors.
