Prince Harry may not be able to survive in Hollywood without Meghan Markle<\/a>, experts have said. A new Channel documentary, Prince Harry<\/a>: My Terrible Year, is delving into Meghan and Harry’s difficult 2025, where they have faced a series of knockbacks with their Netflix<\/a> deals. As reports have emerged that their $100m deal with Netflix<\/a> is not being renewed due to a mixed bag of shows and figures<\/a>, experts have said that Meghan will be able to bounce back from this easier than Meghan.<\/p>\n

Russell Myers, Royal Editor for Daily Mirror said: “We had Heart of Invictus and the Polo series, and then we had Changemakers, and the figures across the three series were pretty abysmal,” in comparison to their tell-all series achieving record-breaking numbers on Netflix<\/a>. Harry’s Invictus documentary was said to have only achieved around 300,000 views, and while Meghan’s lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, received mixed reviews, it did achieve more impressive figures and was renewed for a second series.<\/a><\/p>\n

John Harrington, Editor for PR Week UK said: “They were seen as having these incredible opportunities such as this Netflix<\/a> deal, but it looks like they’ve wasted them, they haven’t amounted to much, and people are starting to see there isn’t a lot of substance to them.”<\/p>\n

Tom Quinn, who penned Yes Ma’am, The Secret Lives of Royal Servants, agreed with John as he added: “Meghan and Harry really aren’t making a success and it is because they think they’re really talented, when actually they’re not, one is an actress and one is an ex-royal, they’re not directors or producers.”<\/p>\n

Meghan has been called the “more resilient” one of the pair due to her being used to being in the acting industry from a young age. Journalist Bidisha Mamata added: “There is a difference in this couple’s central levels of resilience, Meghan Markle<\/a> grew up without any privilege whatsoever, she was a jobbing actress, she had to work in this very cutthroat and sleazy industry which could be very fair.<\/p>\n

“Meghan will be fine, I think she will cut ten or 20 deals and make one of them stick. Prince Harry<\/a> doesn’t have his wife’s resilience or her level of attack, or her idea of ‘if this doesn’t work, I’ll try another thing’, he doesn’t have her ability of going to the boardroom and saying ‘here’s 20 other things we could have a go at’.”<\/p>\n

It was added in the documentary that Meghan has faced a number of brutal setbacks, but she just “kicks on to the next one” and is “more of a hustler than Harry”, as this is a whole new world to him.<\/p>\n

Harrington concluded: “She has got more skills to deal with the post royal life and a lot of these things come easily to her than Harry, who has never needed to develop these skills because of the royals.”<\/p>\n
