Elsewhere, Lars Boven<\/b>, Donavan Grondin<\/b>, Owain Doull<\/b> and Filippo Baroncini<\/b> all also abandoned.Stage 4\u00a0<\/p>\nAfter Maxim van Gils<\/b> was a DNS for Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe overnight, two riders abandoned on the stage, with both Irish sprinter Sam Bennett<\/b> and Intermarche’s Kamiel Bonneu<\/b> leaving the race.<\/p>\n
Stage 5<\/p>\n
A whole host of riders were DNS before stage 5, seven in total. Most notable among them were Picnic PostNL’s young British climber Max Poole<\/b>, Team Jayco AlUla’s Koen Bouwman<\/b> and Cofidis’ Polish sprint star Stanislaw Aniolkowski, <\/b>with Mikkel Honore<\/b>, Pepijn Reinderink<\/b>, Cedric Beullens<\/b> and Maikel Zijlaard<\/b> completing the list. On the stage itself, Florian Senechal<\/b> then further diminished the peloton’s numbers with an abandon.<\/p>\n
Stage 6<\/p>\n
A total of a whole 17 riders have left the race today. Missing at the startline were notable names such as Michal Kwiatkowski <\/b>and Magnus Sheffield<\/b> who abandoned the race ill; Niklas Behrens, Paul Ourselin, Finn Fisher-Black, Tim van Dijke, Ethan Hayter, Andrea Raccagni, Casper van Uden<\/b> and Pawel Bernas.<\/b> And amongst those who did not finish the stage later on were Bauke Mollema, Casper Pedersen, Michal Pomorski, Gerben Thijssen, Remi Cavagna, Piet Allegaert <\/b>and Dan McLay<\/b>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
