Edinburgh’s skies were graced with the Red Arrows on Saturday evening (August 9), drawing hundreds to witness their spectacular display.<\/p>\n
The renowned jets painted the sky with trails of red, white and blue smoke, while the familiar roar of their engines captivated both locals and visitors alike.<\/p>\n
The sky spectacle was particularly striking around 6.15pm, with one local resident Josh Ponton capturing the extraordinary moment from his window.<\/p>\n

The flypast was a highlight of this year’s Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which is known for its array of incredible performances set against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle’s Esplanade.<\/p>\n
Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Spectators flocked to vantage points such as Calton Hill, the Vennel by the Grassmarket, the Royal Mile, and Princes Street to enjoy the event, reports Edinburgh Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n Flypast schedule for the 2025 Tattoo:<\/p>\n Marking its 75th anniversary, the Tattoo is celebrating with an extended line-up of flypasts, featuring aircraft from the Royal Air Force and the British Army, including the anticipated return of Apache helicopters.<\/p>\n Jason Barrett, CEO of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, expressed the event’s enduring spirit.<\/p>\n “We were born from the spirit of post-war celebration, and that legacy continues to inspire everything we do,” he said.<\/p>\n “The Flypasts are a demonstration of the Tattoo’s support and commitment to the UK’s defence forces and are a cherished tradition and a much-loved highlight of our Show, stirring pride and joy in equal measure.<\/p>\n “This year, as we mark our 75th anniversary, we are honoured to welcome aircraft from both the RAF and the Army.<\/p>\n “As we turn our eyes to the sky, we’re reminded of the extraordinary dedication of our armed forces, at home and around the world.”<\/p>\n\n
