The decisions to recognize a Palestinian state come amid mounting international condemnation<\/a> of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer describing the \u201csuffering and starvation\u201d in Gaza as \u201cunspeakable and indefensible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rubio said in the Thursday interview that those decisions showed Hamas that the militant group was being rewarded for its actions. \u201cIf I\u2019m Hamas, I\u2019d basically conclude: \u2018Let\u2019s not do a ceasefire, we can be rewarded, we can claim it as a victory,\u2019 \u201d Rubio said.<\/p>\n
