Florence Pugh has confirmed her return as Princess Irulan in Dune 3<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV (Christopher Walken), Irulan<\/a> first appeared in the sci-fi sequel where, in the final scenes, she agreed to marry Paul Atreides (Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a>) if he spared the life of her father. <\/p>\n

Though Irulan spent most of the movie on the sidelines, Pugh hopes to have a more prominent role in Dune 3 when she begins filming this summer. <\/p>\n

Speaking about her character, the actor told Harper’s Bazaar<\/a>: “I hope we see more of her. I want more cool outfits!” <\/p>\n

Dune director Denis Villeneuve previously confirmed<\/a> that the princess would become a bigger part of the trilogy, comparing the role to Zendaya’s character Chani. <\/p>\n

“Of course, if there’s a Dune Messiah<\/a> as we plan, [Irulan will] become one of the prominent characters of that whole series. I’m doing a bit of what I did with Zendaya in the first movie,” he told Moviefone<\/a>. <\/p>\n

“I introduced Chani in Dune and then she becomes one of the main characters in Part Two. I do the same with Florence, I just introduced her in Part Two and if there’s a Dune Messiah, she becomes one of the main characters.” <\/p>\n

Also reprising his role for the threequel is Jason Momoa<\/a>, whose character Duncan Idaho was killed off in the first movie. In Frank Herbert’s Dune books, Duncan Idaho is brought back as an artificially created human, known as a ghola, as a gift to Paul. <\/p>\n

The actor shared the news of his return on the press tour for A Minecraft Movie<\/a>, telling TODAY<\/a>: “Well, I’m not sure if I’m going to get in trouble or not, but it’s the same thing like Game of Thrones. If you didn’t read the books, it’s not my fault, right? I’m going to be coming back.”<\/p>\n

Dune 3 is set to be released on December 18, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n
