Liverpool are expected to hold further talks over Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi after the Community Shield.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Arne Slot\u2019s side are in the market for a new centre back after Jarell Quansah\u2019s move to Bayer Leverkusen left them with just three senior options in that position.<\/p>\n

Guehi, who lead Palace to an FA Cup triumph last season, is heading into his last year under contract at Selhurst Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last season, the Eagles were after as much as \u00a365million to sell their captain as Newcastle had a number of bids turned down.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Their bargaining power is somewhat weaker now but he would still command a fair fee, and they have this summer held talks to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande for as much as \u00a340m \u2014 a player Liverpool have scouted in the past.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As reported by Daily Mail Sport earlier this summer,\u00a0Palace are seeking around \u00a345m for Guehi.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez are Liverpool\u2019s only senior centre-backs, with Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch having filled in during pre-season.<\/p>\n

Chelsea have not made a fresh approach for Guehi so far despite Levi Colwill’s injury as they concentrate on sales and signing Xavi Simons from Leipzig and Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, Chelsea do admire Bayer Leverkusen’s left sided defender Piero Hincapie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
