Manchester United may have dropped a huge hint over what number Benjamin Sesko will wear for the club.<\/strong><\/p>\n

United confirmed the arrival<\/a> of the Slovenian striker from RB Leipzig in a deal worth \u00a366.3million with \u00a37.4m in add-ons on Saturday.<\/p>\n

They fought off competition from Newcastle to sign Sesko<\/a>, another attacking addition after Mathus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.<\/p>\n

United<\/a> hosted Fiorentina in a pre-season friendly on Saturday and unveiled all three players onto the Old Trafford pitch before kick-off.<\/p>\n

Diego Leon, a left-back who signed from Cerro Porteno, was also in attendance on the hallowed turf.<\/p>\n

The Paraguayan has been wearing the No.30 shirt upon his arrival at the club this window.<\/p>\n

However, in footage filmed in the dressing room before the game, his shirt was hanging up with No.35 on the back instead.<\/p>\n

United fans were quick to notice this detail and suggest that Sesko is the new owner of the No.30.<\/p>\n

It’s the number he always wore during his spells at Red Bull Salzburg and Leipzig, although he normally dons No.11 for Slovenia.<\/p>\n

Sesko previously explained why he has sported the squad number throughout his career.<\/p>\n

“All those small numbers, mostly like 9, 11, 7, those kind of things, were used already in Salzburg, in the first team,” he told<\/a> Sky Sports.<\/p>\n

“So, I took 30. At this point, I was like, ‘I want to take Erling’s [Haaland] number!”<\/p>\n

Speaking to United after he signed, Sesko gave a glowing review of the club and their ambitions with him going forward.<\/p>\n

he remarked: “The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future.<\/p>\n

“When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue to grow and compete for the biggest trophies again soon.<\/p>\n

“From the moment that I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment that the club has created. <\/p>\n

“It is clearly the perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfil all of my ambitions.<\/p>\n

“I cannot wait to start learning from Ruben [Amorim] and connecting with my team-mates to achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together.”<\/p>\n
