{"id":332462,"date":"2025-08-10T06:26:13","date_gmt":"2025-08-10T06:26:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/332462\/"},"modified":"2025-08-10T06:26:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-10T06:26:13","slug":"deeside-author-writes-lionesses-book-in-just-two-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/332462\/","title":{"rendered":"Deeside author writes Lionesses book in just two days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Phil Woods is best known for being the\u00a0author of the popular book &#8216;The Racing Biography\u00a0of Lewis Hamilton&#8217;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Now, the Connah&#8217;s Quay resident has written\u00a0a book charting the success of England&#8217;s Lionesses at Euro 2025.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Incredibly, the book &#8211;\u00a0&#8216;The Lionesses Roar Again&#8217; &#8211; was completed by the Tuesday (July 29) following the final in Basel Switzerland two days earlier.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  England beat World Champions Spain for back to back Euro triumphs and Phil&#8217;s\u00a0book was quickly published by Amazon and is available now for just \u00a35.99.<\/p>\n<p>It looks at the last three major tournaments, Euro 22, The World Cup 23 and Euro 25, all finals featuring Sarina Wiegman&#8217;s England.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Phil said: &#8220;I had the idea for the book as the final penalty was taken in Basel, and wanted to be the first to get such a book out.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <strong>TOP STORIES TODAY<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He added: &#8220;I spent Monday and Tuesday furiously writing, not even giving myself time to sleep.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Once he&#8217;d finished he decided to go down the route of publishing with Amazon, the quickest way to get a book published and available.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Phil added:\u00a0&#8220;The longest and most frustrating part of the project was trying to format the book in such a way that it was acceptable to Amazon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Phil has traditionally written comedy or Formula One, being former editor of two motorsport magazines.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  To write about football is a bit of a departure, but the Tranmere Rovers fan has formally written extensively about the club he supports.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The book &#8216;The Lionesses Roar Again&#8217; celebrates more than the two Euro wins, it also looks at the World Cup and the lead up to these moments, including the near misses until Sarina Wiegman took over.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The book also dedicated a chapter to the genius that is Wiegman, a manager who has been part of the last five\u00a0major championship finals, the Dutch star taking the Netherlands to glory before taking the England Job.<\/p>\n<p>On writing the book so quickly, Phil: &#8220;I&#8217;m sure people have written to tight deadlines and fast before, but I seriously doubt books have been written in 48 hours.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;I hope that people enjoy looking back over at these wonderful moments, they should never be forgotten and now I hope they won&#8217;t with the release of this book.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The book is available for just \u00a35.99 in paperback, and \u00a310.99 in hardback on Amazon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Phil Woods is best known for being the\u00a0author of the popular book &#8216;The Racing Biography\u00a0of Lewis Hamilton&#8217;.
