Arne Slot<\/a> is missing just two players through injury from his squad to play against Crystal Palace<\/a> in the Community Shield. <\/b><\/p>\n

While the result will be quickly forgotten, Sunday\u2019s outing at Wembley provides a chance for Liverpool to rehearse ahead of their Premier League<\/a> opener against Bournemouth<\/a> five days later.<\/p>\n

Liverpool should line up with a strong team before making use of the six substitutions on offer in the second half.<\/p>\n

While two players will likely be absent from proceedings, Liverpool have a further two men, in Virgil van Dijk<\/a> and Alisson<\/a>, who are available after missing Monday\u2019s friendlies against Athletic Club.<\/p>\n

Here is who could miss out for Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace<\/a> and Slot\u2019s updates:<\/p>\n

As mentioned above, Van Dijk<\/strong> returns following illness, while Alisson<\/a><\/strong> also comes back into the fold, having had some time off for personal reasons.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Liverpool will be without Joe Gomez<\/a><\/strong> and Conor Bradley<\/a><\/strong>, however.<\/p>\n

The latter didn\u2019t train on Friday and was also not involved in either of the games against Athletic Club. This leaves Jeremie Frimpong<\/a> to start at right-back for the Reds.<\/p>\n

In addition, Gomez is out with an Achilles problem that forced him to fly home early from Liverpool\u2019s pre-season tour in Asia.<\/p>\n

Slot said<\/a> on Friday that though \u201che has a minor injury at the moment,\u201d the 28-year-old \u201cwill be back with the team very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The other fitness issue with which Slot has to contend is regarding Alexis Mac Allister<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Argentine has only played 84 minutes of Liverpool\u2019s pre-season so far and is still regaining match sharpness following a series of problems over the summer.<\/p>\n

Slot explained: \u201cHe was out for two months I think, or longer because we didn\u2019t play him in the last four games of the season. He trained with us since a week now, played 30 minutes, 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo that\u2019s not a situation where you would start a player [and] play him for 90 minutes. Starting is possible but definitely not for 90 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n
